Butterflies on a Polyhedron of Genus 3 Douglas

چکیده
In 1985 the mathematician H. S. M. Coxeter suggested that one could cover a torus in a regular way with 18 copies of the butterfly motif of M. C. Escher's Notebook Drawing Number 70. In this paper, we show how 168 copies of that motif can cover a surface of genus 3 a 3-holed torus. In fact, we cover a polyhedron of genus 3 with such butterflies.

On 5-dimensional 2-step homogeneous randers nilmanifolds of Douglas type
In this paper we first obtain the non-Riemannian Randers metrics of Douglas type on two-step homogeneous nilmanifolds of dimension five. Then we explicitly give the flag curvature formulae and the $S$-curvature formulae for the Randers metrics of Douglas type on these spaces. Moreover, we prove that the only simply connected five-dimensional two-step homogeneous Randers nilmanifolds of D...

A checklist of butterflies of the genus Junonia (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae) of Pakistan is presented with a new record for Pakistan i.e. Junonia (Precis) atlites. In total six species of genus Junonia are recorded from Pakistan. A key to the butterfly species of the genus Junonia of Pakistan and their distribution is given.
متن کاملPollen feeding and reproductive biology of heliconius butterflies.
Butterflies of the neotropical Genus Heliconius feed on pollen. This is the first known instance in butterflies of a habit that is well known for other insects. The butterflies remove amino acids and proteins from pollen; this feeding innovation plays a role in the reproductive and population biology of these insects. It is suggested that other animals may use pollen in a similar fashion.
